Flare 2.2 is the second chapter of Flare. Visiting Fume Hood in the hospital, discussing the teams with Tempera; whose group splitting up. Taking some kids flying, contacting Jessica when a kid asks for help.
Plot[]
Victoria arrives at a hospital to visit Fume Hood, only to first meet with Tempera. When asked, Victoria brings up her difficulty with finding a team and her misgivings about The Attendant and their merger with The Shepherds. She was not satisfied with the philosophy of the merged team (their extreme emphasis on bigger threats over smaller ones), nor the fact that ex-members of Empire Eighty-Eight are among their ranks. Right before they reach the hospital room, Tempera admits that she received an offer to join The Attendant, which requires further research and consideration. She’ll try to recommend Victoria to her contacts. Inside the room, Fume Hood appears lighthearted, though she has decided to retire from hero work for the time being. Her assailant was just a frustrated civilian, but further conflict is inevitable if she continues as a hero. She discounts the feasibility of the Norfair Neighborhood Heroes staying together, due to their conflicting personalities.
Her mind swimming with a desire to act, Victoria gets lost in the hospital and eventually offers to visit the ‘crisis points’, traumatized child patients who could potentially develop powers. Donning a Legend costume, she meets with several kids in an attempt to cheer them up. First, she helps Audrey experience the joy of flight, and later she reads bedtime stories to Juan. Finally, she discovers that one of the teen patients has a friend who has developed powers. She tries to relay the information to Tempera, who will be preoccupied that night. Victoria’s second contact is Jessica Yamada, who says she will do what she can to help, and that she would like to meet with Victoria to discuss something.
