The depth of the characters, and breadth of the world created by J.C. McCrae can be attributed to continuous drafting and rewrites the author went through as he tried to settle on the viewpoint character that would introduce readers to what would eventually become Worm.
He has sporadically revealed details on these possible worlds, that exist(ed) in varying states of cannon.
